Corrigin WWTP – Electro-chlorination Upgrades

View Project PDF

Challenge the client faced:

The existing Electro-chlorination system at Corrigin Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) had reached the end of its life and was deemed to no longer be viable for use.

Solution provided:

WestWater have designed and installed an upgraded Electro-chlorination system, which is located in an existing  prefabricated transportable building on-site at Corrigin WWTP.

There is also a 2,000L product tank located outside of the building to store the produced Sodium Hypochlorite.

Conclusion / project outcome:

One new Hyprolyser iSEC560 Electro-chlorination unit has been installed, consisting of a brine tank, electrolytic cells, water softener, chiller, hydrogen blower and control panel.

The Electrochlorination system produces 0.6% Sodium Hypochlorite solution, and operates automatically and independently to keep the product tank full of Sodium Hypochlorite.

The upgraded Electro-chlorination facility on-site also includes the following features:

  • A hydrogen gas detection system
  • 200L/hr Sodium Hypochlorite dose pump with calibration column
  • Control and Power Distribution Panel
  • Air conditioner
  • Ancillary equipment and instrumentation
