Project Announcement – Electro-chlorination Facility – WA

WestWater have successfully won a tender with Civcon Civil & Project Management for the design, construction and installation of a new Electro-chlorination facility in Bullsbrook, Western Australia.

Separate to these project works, Civcon are installing a new water main to supply water from the nearby Ellenbrook Storage Tank to customers in West Bullsbrook (approx. 15km).

The Water Corporation conducted a chlorine decay analysis in December 2021 of the water supply from the Ellenbrook Storage Tank and identified the need for additional chlorination to maintain effective chlorine residual within the supply to West Bullsbrook. All chlorination options were considered, and on site Electro-chlorination was chosen due to the low chlorine demand of the scheme.

The new Electro-chlorination facility will be housed within a transportable building, and consist of:

  • Two (2) Hyprolyser iSEC90 Electro-chlorinators
  • Sodium Hypochlorite Storage Tank
  • Dosing Panel with low & high range Dose Pumps
  • Residual Chlorine Analysers
  • Plant Control & SCADA System
  • Various ancillary equipment and instrumentation

All aspects of the works will be completed in accordance with the Contract, relevant design standards, and Australian Standards.

The project is expected to reach Practical Completion by June 2025.
